Solar panel Cleaning Robo

The Solar Panel Cleaning Robot is an innovative and efficient solution designed to clean solar panels and improve their energy conversion efficiency. Over time, dust, bird droppings, and other debris accumulate on solar panels, which significantly reduces their ability to absorb sunlight. This robot is developed to solve this problem by providing a portable, easy-to-use, and cost-effective cleaning mechanism. The robot operates on a 12.6V lithium-ion battery and is equipped with a Bluetooth module (HC-05) that allows the user to control it remotely via a smartphone using any Bluetooth controller app. The core of the system is built around an Arduino Nano microcontroller, which receives commands from the user and controls the movement of the robot as well as the cleaning operations. The robot uses two 60 RPM geared motors connected through an L298N motor driver to control its forward, backward, left, and right movements. For the cleaning mechanism, a 10 RPM motor is attached to a soft rotating brush that sweeps dirt and dust off the solar panel surface. Additionally, a 12V mini water pump is used to spray water onto the panels for deep cleaning, especially useful in removing sticky particles or dried mud. The brush and water pump can be activated or deactivated independently using Bluetooth commands, providing flexible control during the cleaning process. The entire structure is mounted on a compact wheeled chassis that can move across flat panel arrays. This robot not only reduces the manual effort involved in cleaning but also enhances the lifespan and efficiency of solar panels by maintaining their cleanliness regularly. The project is suitable for small rooftop installations as well as large solar farms. With future upgrades, this robot can also be automated using sensors and programmed cleaning paths, making it fully autonomous for industrial-scale operations.
